Making Tea Cosies workshop

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre have released their guide for 2011.

Not only do they have exhibitions, but they also have hands on workshops as well for minimal cost. An up and coming one that I thought Northside peeps might like is the crochet tea cosy workshop.

It's that time of the year again. The time to take a look inside some very creative studios and get inspired and motivated all over again.

Over at the Nicholas Building Blog, there's an eInvite where you can see the list of all the artists and it is like a who's who of Handmade in Melbourne!

You can wander in and out of studios, take a look at some wonderful handmade items and if you are lucky, partake in champagne and nibblies. Get there early because it can get a bit crowded and most of the transversing of levels occurs via stairs and not the ricketty manual elevator which is probably heritage listed.

Daylesford Roadtrip

As our darling members already know, Northside Makers are going on a roadtrip in a couple weeks! We've booked a minibus and we're on our way to check out the Daylesford Makers Market on Saturday 3rd July. And to make the day even more special - you're invited too! You don't need to be a Northside Maker to come along on this day of fun, shopping and inspiration.


Our itinerary for the day is still evolving but here it is in essentials:

9am: Meet in Northcote & hop on the bus
First stop: Special Northside Makers shopping event at Lark, including the twice-yearly Lark Garage Sale and a very special discount just for our roadtrippers!
Then: On to Daylesford Makers Market to see some of your favourite crafters and meet heaps of new ones
Lunch: at The Food Gallery with plenty of vegetarian & vegan options (at roadtrippers' own expense)
Afternoon: Free time in Daylesford or pop back on the minibus to visit Mill Markets
When we're all tired out: Stumble on to the bus and wake up in Northcote
